The Pursuit of Confidence

How to be confident in a world making it impossible

Where confidence really comes from, why the modern world is so good at taking it away, and the one way to get it back.

Confidence came easily when I was a kid. The older I got, the less I felt it, until one day it was gone.

Most of us spend huge amounts of time trying to get it back. Exercise, diets, dates, careers, hobbies, mindfulness… you name it. And it works, for a while. Then it fades, and we go looking again. With billions of people chasing this one simple thing, how come so few of us ever seem to catch it?

Something is wrong. Something is broken.

This book is about that something, and exactly what you can do about it. It’s about where confidence really comes from, why the world is so good at taking it away, and how I went about getting mine back. It’s the book I wish someone had handed me at my lowest. I wrote it so I could hand it to you.

Being confident isn’t easy. You can’t fake it or force it. It’s not something you can learn, and definitely not something you can buy.

There’s only one way to find confidence in yourself. And it’s all about looking in the complete opposite direction.
